In 2008 a service pack is being created and many computers need to be updated. If it’s a Microsoft product, you can manage everything through the WSUS update. But as for me, I even have a WSUS server, only the server only has Windows nicotine patches, mostly replicated with WSUS, which only receives Windows patches from Microsoft. To install multiple service packs for office, I can use a GPO-initiated patch in a login script with unattended install so that the user is not distracted by someone else’s setup file.
Step By Step Guide To Using Office 2003 Service Pack 3 Unattended
Download Office SP3 (Office2003SP3-KB923618-FullFile-ENU.exe) from Microsoft
CreateChoose a temporary folder to save the snippet to C:temp. Extract the file to the temperature folder by running this command in command line mode: “Office2003SP3-KB923618-FullFile-ENU.exe /c /t:C:temp /q”. Note. You can type “Office2003SP3-KB923618-FullFile-ENU.exe To /? to display command line options.
Now you can see that the files in the temporary folder have been checked out. MAINSP3.msp is a core Office service that consists of several packages. OWC11SP3.msp and OWC102003SP3.msp are World Wide Web SP3 components for Office and xp Office 2003, respectively.
You can install the service desktop package 3 by running it with the following commands.
Install without driver interface. When the installation of some types of Service Pack 3 is completed, the computer will be force restarted automatically.
“msiexec /p C:tempMAINSP3.msp /qn”
DO NOT install in any UI, and do not frequently rebuild Service Pack 3 software To complete installation.
“msiexec /p C:tempMAINSP3.msp /qn /norestart”
If you need to connect multiple computers, you can put a command in a Group Policy Object (GPO) in the login scripts and similarly move Service Pack Clips (.msp) to a folder that can only share a specific file, others will be executed.
For example, I move MAINSP3.msp so that \BKKPDC01temp is a shared folder.
I then add a logon script using domain group policy using this skills command Msiexec ScriptOptions: Name: /p \bkkpdc01tempMAINSP3.msp /np /norestart basically don’t install Office SP3 automatically with a reboot after a full install. Now when users log in to Windows in addition to the user’s domain, the script should run automatically.
Whentagging. This is a typical example. If you need to install Service Pack 3 (SP3) through a GPO, you need to be aware of network performance issues. For example, if multiple users register at the same time, they will receive the service pack offer file at the same time, which may result in your online account being charged. You probably won’t be able to solve this problem by posting this script to just about everyone. Changes In Version 12.0
