I have a D600 that I bought through my company some time ago at a computer auction. The BIOS version of the application is now A05. Was the immediate update to the active BIOS (A16) successful? Or should it be updated gradually? (e.g. A06, A07, A08 … etc.)
1) I have updated the BIOS to Latitude of my D600. The current version is A02. I followed the instructions and downloaded the “D600_A16” update to my desktop. I double clicked everything and hit RUN. At the end, I get a “Latitude D600 BIOS Flash A16” warning with the message “AC card and battery must be inserted before flashing system BIOS. Click OK if both are likely to be inserted, CANCEL or immediately to exit. I click OK because they are related, but I keep getting an amazing message.

So I found the root cause of the problem. The port replicator has a USB extension cable (adds 4 additional USB 1.1 ports) and when trying to start the laptop, the problem will now show a black screen with a blinking cursor. Having removed this thrust, if the system is working well, I would advise you to put on a replicator.
I tried another popular port replicator (same model) that always did the same. It looks like the BIOS update changed the USB port settings a bit, so I need to find a solution right now.
By the way … it’s just wrong to install the BIOS that triggered the Dell update for the Dell gadget without warning If you see or warn that the update will fail when connected to the -Replicator, the new port insists on the problem after following Dell’s recommendation. it suits me.
If Dell’s best-kept secret is revealed regarding issues they cannot figure out until they find it, the customer will be blamed and he will have to look everywhere for his computers.
